Why connected dashcams

The footage is already with you when something happens.

A standalone dashcam records to an SD card in a van you have to go and find. A connected dashcam puts the evidence in your portal automatically — tied to everything else Tracking Guardian knows about that moment.

Automatic event footage

Harsh braking, rapid acceleration and collision events trigger automatic clip uploads. No SD cards to pull, no footage to hunt for — it's in the portal when you log in.

Linked to everything

Every clip is tied to the journey, driver, speed and location data from Tracking Guardian — one complete picture of any event, ready to hand to your insurer.

🛡️

Protect your business

Defend against fraudulent claims, resolve disputes in minutes, and give your insurer the evidence they ask for — often reducing premiums along the way.

🎬

Remote footage requests

Request a clip from any camera, any vehicle, from your desk. The footage arrives in the portal — no chasing drivers or SD cards back to the office.

Road & driver-facing views

Road-facing as standard, with optional driver-facing cameras where your policy requires them — configured per vehicle.

💚

Camera health monitoring

See at a glance that every camera is online and recording. A camera that silently failed last month is no use on the day you need it.

In the portal

Every event, one timeline.

Dashcam events sit alongside tracking data in the portal. A harsh-braking clip shows you the road; the tracking data shows you the speed, the driver fob tells you who was behind the wheel, and the incident report from the driver app completes the record.

  • Event clips organised by vehicle, driver and date
  • Footage linked to incident reports submitted from the driver app
  • Download and share clips securely with insurers

FAQ

Dashcams, answered.

Do I need Tracking Guardian to use the dashcams?
Dashcam Guardian is designed as an add-on to tracked vehicles — that's what makes the footage so useful, because every clip is linked to journey, speed, driver and location data. Talk to us about your setup and we'll recommend the right combination.
What triggers an automatic upload?
Harsh braking, rapid acceleration, harsh cornering and collision-level G-force events all trigger automatic clip uploads to the portal. You can also request footage from any camera manually at any time.
Can drivers see or delete footage?
No. Footage uploads to the portal automatically and is managed by your portal administrators — drivers can't remove clips or tamper with SD cards, because the evidence never depends on the SD card.
Will connected dashcams reduce my insurance premium?
Many UK fleet insurers offer reduced premiums for fleets running connected cameras, and virtually all respond faster to claims backed by footage. Check with your insurer — we can provide the technical details they ask for.
